Boris Corpse:

Here is my version of corpsing the Talking Thru Boris skull. If you have one of these lying around, I suggest you try this project. It's easy and fast (less than an hour per skull), and the corpsed skull looks much better than it did before.

Talking Thru BorisCotton BallsLiquid LatexOld PaintbrushBrown Shoe PolishGlossy Enamel Spray PaintI started this project by unscrewing the back of Boris and cutting the wires to the speaker and LEDs. As you may know, the speaker for the most recent version of the Boris is terrible. You should definitely cut the wire to the speaker. Whether or not you want to have the eyes flashing while he speaks is up to you. This tutorial will tell you how to corpse a Talking Thru Boris without affecting the skull's jaw movement. I plan to use Otaku's modification for these skulls in the Links section to the left.
Start by keeping the skull's mouth open any way you can, so that it is open the same amount as when you speak into the microphone. Then, begin applying latex around the jaw area, as shown in the third picture to the left.
I start by brushing latex below the eye and the upper jaw, and along the edge of the bottom jaw. Then, unroll a cotton ball, and stretch the cotton out lengthwise. Dab one end of the unrolled cotton onto the wet latex you just brushed onto the upper jaw, and stretch it to the bottom jaw. Then, brush latex along the whole stretch of cotton you just created.
When all of this cotton is covered, gently stretch the edges of it up toward another part of the skull, attaching with more latex. This makes thin spots and holes in the latex , creating more of a realistic rotting skin look. Make sure you don't cover the hinge or make the latex too tight from the upper jaw to the lower jaw.
Continue this same technique to the eyes and nose. Then, cover the chin and the back of the skull by brushing the entire area with latex, placing the unrolled cotton down, and brush the cotton with latex again.

COMING SOON:
Let the latex dry overnight, with the jaw open.
I used brown shoe polish for my skulls, but you can use a wood stain. Either way, I wouls recommend coating the skull in an enamel spray paint once the stain or polish is dried. Neither of these stick that well to latex, and adding this layer will protect it from running off with rain or being wiped off. Glossy spray will keep the corpse looking shiny, like a freshly decaying corpse.
